During a meeting with EU ambassador to Iraq
Parliament speaker: we are seeking to make use of the EU experience in fields of development, business, and economic recovery in the country
Council of Representatives Speaker Dr. Salim al-Jubouri received, at his official office, on Wednesday, 26 August 2015 Ambassador of the European Union Jana Hapaschkova on the occasion of the end of her tasks in Iraq.
During the meeting, ways of continuing the cooperation between Iraq and EU on all fields, particularly, on the humanitarian and aid levels as well as supporting Iraq in fighting terrorism were discussed.
Speaker Al-Jubouri stressed that the relations between Iraq and the European Union are important for both sides and could turn out to more openness on the union’s countries in order to achieve progress in the field of reconstruction and development of various sectors in the country.
His Excellency illustrated that parliament is looking forward to further cooperation for the advancement of its legislative institution as a representative of the people. He stressed that Iraq seeks to make use of the EU's experience in the field of development, business and the advancement of the country's economy, praising the role of the ambassador to deepen ties and her desire to build bridges of mutual cooperation between the two sides.
On her part, Ambassador Hapaschkova expressed the union’s countries willingness to cooperate with Iraq and to provide all forms of support to replay its vital role in the region.
